DISCOVER PARADISE IN SRILANKA

After breakfast check out and today we proceed for highlight of our tour the ascent of the iconic Sigiriya Lion Rock. This ancient rock fortress, a UNESCO site, offers a rewarding climb past landscaped water gardens, historic frescoes, and the impressive Lion’s Paw staircase, leading to breathtaking panoramic views from the summit. After descending, we proceed to the hill capital, Kandy. En route, we stop at a Spice Garden in Matale, where we learn about Sri Lanka’s aromatic herbs and spices. In Kandy, we visit the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, home to the sacred relic of Lord Buddha. We also explore a Gem Gallery, showcasing Sri Lanka’s world-famous precious stones. In the evening, we enjoy a vibrant traditional cultural dance performance before checking into our hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive to Nuwara Eliya, fondly known as “Little England,” a journey of approximately two and a half hours. Our sightseeing begins with a visit to the colourful Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple. We then explore the world of Ceylon Tea with a tour of a Tea Plantation and Tea Factory, where we observe the tea-making process and enjoy a freshly brewed cup. We will then continue to visit Gregory Park, a beautifully landscaped lakeside area perfect for leisurely walks and picturesque views. Later proceed to visit Seeta Amman Temple, an important Ramayana site believed to be the place where Sita was held captive. After our visits, we check in at our hotel. The evening is free for us to enjoy the cool climate and charming ambience of Nuwara Eliya.

After breakfast, we check out and proceed on a scenic four-and-a-half-hour drive to the coastal town of Bentota. Upon arrival, we experience the region’s signature attractions. We begin with a peaceful Madhu River boat ride, gliding through mangrove forests and spotting local birdlife. Next, we visit a Turtle Hatchery, where we learn about conservation efforts and see various species of sea turtles up close.

Following breakfast, we check out and proceed to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling commercial capital. Upon arrival, we begin a comprehensive city and shopping tour, exploring the blend of colonial charm and modern cityscapes with potential visits to landmarks such as Independence Square and Galle Face Green. The shopping tour gives us an excellent opportunity to pick up souvenirs tea, gems, spices, handicrafts, and more from Colombo’s popular shopping hubs. Later, we check in to our hotel in Colombo for our final overnight stay in Sri Lanka.

After breakfast, depending on our flight schedule, we transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for our SriLankan Airways flight back to Cochin. We return home carrying wonderful memories of the cultural treasures, natural beauty, and coastal charm that made our Sri Lankan journey truly unforgettable.
