Itinerary

Our unforgettable South Africa with Victoria Falls journey begins as we gather at Cochin, Trivandrum or Calicut Airport, filled with excitement for the adventure ahead. Upon arrival in Chennai, our entire group comes together and proceeds to the International Terminal for check-in. As we wait to board our connecting flight to South Africa via Addis Ababa, the excitement only grows. We look forward to everything that awaits us thrilling wildlife safaris, scenic coastlines, beautiful landscapes, vibrant cities, and rich cultural experiences. This marks the beginning of a truly memorable journey.

After a short transit at Addis Ababa Airport, we board our connecting flight to Cape Town. As the plane prepares to land, we start to see the beautiful view of Cape Town from above tall mountains, wide blue oceans, and a clean, bright city spread below us. Once we land, we complete our arrival formalities and step out of the airport to begin our South African journey. We proceed to visit Table Mountain (Weather permitting), the most famous symbol of Cape Town. We take a cable car that slowly climbs up the mountain while turning around, allowing us to enjoy 360-degree views. During the ride, we can see the ocean, the city, the green forests, and the rocky cliffs all around us. Reaching the top feels refreshing, the cool breeze, the open sky, and the wide views make it a peaceful place to stand and admire nature. After spending quality time at Table Mountain, we drive to our hotel and check in. The rest of the evening is free for us to relax after the long journey. Overnight stay in Cape Town.

Today, we spend the whole day exploring the stunning natural beauty of the Cape Peninsula. We begin our journey with a pleasant boat ride to Seal Island, where we can see many playful Cape fur seals resting on the rocks or swimming in the water. After this, we drive along Chapman’s Peak, one of the most beautiful coastal roads in South Africa. The road curves along the cliffs, offering amazing views of the deep blue ocean below. Next, we visit the Cape of Good Hope, a place that was very important in history. It was discovered by European explorers in the 15th century and became the first sea route connecting Europe to Asia.. From here, we take a funicular ride up to Cape Point, a high viewpoint with panoramic views of the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The scenery from the top is breathtaking, with endless blue water and dramatic cliffs stretching into the distance. Later, we drive to Simon’s Town, a charming old town known for its naval history. Here, we visit Boulders Beach, home to a colony of African penguins. Watching these cute penguins walk, swim, and play in their natural environment is a heart-warming experience and one of the highlights of the day. To complete our tour, we visit Wine Farm. We enjoy a guided wine-tasting session, learn about the estate’s long winemaking history, and sample some of their best wines. After a full day of sightseeing, we return to our hotel in Cape Town for a comfortable overnight stay.

After breakfast, we start our journey along the famous Garden Route, one of the most beautiful drives in South Africa. As we travel, we see tall mountains, green forests, and long stretches of coastline where the waves crash gently onto the shore. The scenery feels calm and refreshing. Our first stop is Hermanus, a quiet and charming seaside town known for its natural beauty. During certain months of the year, Hermanus is one of the best places in the world to watch whales right from the shore. We walk along the waterfront, enjoy the cool breeze from the ocean, and take in the peaceful atmosphere. After lunch, we continue our drive to Mossel Bay, another beautiful coastal town along the Garden Route. When we reach our hotel, we check in and take some time to rest after the day’s journey. The evening is free for us to stroll around, enjoy the fresh sea air, or simply relax at the hotel. Overnight stay in Mossel Bay.

Today, we travel to Oudtshoorn, a town famous for its ostriches and beautiful natural caves. The drive takes us through peaceful countryside, with wide open fields and distant mountains. Our first stop is the Cango Caves, one of the oldest and largest cave systems in the world. As we enter the caves, we walk through huge underground halls filled with tall and unusual rock formations that have taken millions of years to form. The soft lights inside the caves make everything look magical, and the calm silence gives the place a mysterious feeling. Next, we visit a well-known Ostrich farm. Here, we learn many interesting things about these large birds how they live, what they eat, and why they are important to the people of this region. We get the chance to see the ostriches up close and take photos with them. Their size, long necks, and funny expressions make the visit both fun and educational. After enjoying lunch, we drive back to Mossel Bay. The rest of the evening is free for us to relax at the hotel. Overnight stay in Mossel Bay.

After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and drive to George Airport for our short flight to Johannesburg. After landing in Johannesburg, our first visit is to Satyagraha House, the place where Mahatma Gandhi lived while he developed his ideas of peace, truth, and non-violence. The house has now been turned into a quiet and respectful museum. As we walk through the rooms, we see simple furniture, photographs, and personal items that give us a deeper understanding of how Gandhi lived and thought during his time in South Africa. Later, we drive to Lesedi Cultural Village, a colourful and lively place that celebrates the rich traditions of South Africa’s major tribes Zulu, Xhosa, Basotho, Pedi, and Ndebele. As we enter the village, friendly guides greet us warmly and take us through each tribal area. We learn about the different styles of houses, clothing, languages, and traditions. A highlight of the visit is the traditional dance show, filled with energetic movements, rhythmic drum beats, and joyful singing. The performers wear bright traditional outfits, and their dances bring the culture to life right in front of us. We check in to our comfortable village-style rooms, surrounded by nature and peaceful surroundings. The rest of the evening is free for us to relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Overnight stay at Lesedi Cultural Village.

After breakfast, we check out from Lesedi Village and drive to Johannesburg Airport. Once we reach the airport, we complete our flight formalities and board our plane to Kasane, Botswana, a gateway to some of Africa’s best wildlife areas. During the flight, we enjoy views of wide open landscapes as we move closer to one of Africa’s most famous safari regions. When we land in Kasane, the warm African air and peaceful surroundings welcome us. We meet our local representative and drive to our hotel. After checking in, we get time to relax and settle down. This day is planned as a light and easy day so that we can rest well before our exciting wildlife adventures begin. You can spend the evening enjoying the quiet atmosphere, walking around the lodge area, or simply resting in your room. Overnight stay in Botswana.

Today is one of the most exciting and memorable days of our entire journey. After breakfast, we get ready for our safari in Chobe National Park, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations. Chobe is known for having the largest number of elephants in Africa, and seeing them up close is a special experience. As we drive through the park in our safari vehicle, we look around eagerly for animals. We may see lion families resting in the shade, tall giraffes walking gracefully, zebras grazing in groups, buffaloes moving across the grasslands, and many types of antelopes. The park is also full of colourful birds, making it a paradise for nature lovers. Watching animals in their natural home, without barriers or cages, feels magical and unforgettable. In the evening, we enjoy a peaceful boat safari on the Chobe River. This is a very different experience from the morning safari. From the boat, we may see hippos rising from the water, crocodiles sunbathing on the riverbank, and elephants and other animals coming to drink water. As the sun slowly sets, the sky becomes golden and the water shines beautifully. The moment feels calm, quiet, and truly breathtaking. After a wonderful day with nature, we return to our hotel.

After breakfast, we check out from our hotel and begin our journey toward Zimbabwe. We drive through the border crossing, where we complete the required formalities. Once we enter Zimbabwe, the scenery slowly changes, and we start feeling the excitement of being close to the world-famous Victoria Falls. After reaching our hotel, we check in and take some time to rest. This break allows us to relax and prepare for the beautiful experiences waiting for us in the evening. Later in the evening, we head out for a peaceful sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, one of Africa’s most famous rivers. As our boat moves gently across the water, we enjoy the calm surroundings. The river flows smoothly, birds fly overhead, and sometimes we may spot animals along the riverbank. As the sun begins to set, the sky slowly changes its colours from soft yellow to orange. The reflections in the water create a picture perfect moment. The cool breeze, the sound of flowing water, and the colourful sky make the experience truly relaxing and unforgettable. After the cruise, we return to our hotel.

Today is one of the most unforgettable days of our trip, as we get to experience the mighty Victoria Falls, one of the biggest and most powerful waterfalls in the world. After breakfast, we leave for the Zimbabwean side of the falls. We walk along well made pathways surrounded by green rainforest. Each viewpoint shows a different angle of the falls. At some points, the water crashes down so strongly that we can feel a cool mist on our faces. The loud roar of the falling water, the rising spray, and the rainbow that often appears all make the place feel magical. It truly feels like a masterpiece created by nature. After enjoying the falls from Zimbabwe, we cross the border into Zambia to see the falls from another perspective. From the Zambian side, we get even closer to the edge and feel the power of the water even more strongly. Both sides offer beautiful and unique experiences. Next, we proceed for a safari in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a peaceful and wildlife-rich park near the Zambezi River. Here, we may see white rhinos, elephants, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and many colourful birds. The safari is calm and enjoyable, giving us a chance to see animals in open spaces and natural surroundings. After completing the safari, we drive back to Zimbabwe and return to our hotel for a relaxing evening. Overnight in Zimbabwe.

After breakfast, we check out from our hotel and prepare for our journey back home. We drive to the airport, taking one last look at the beautiful landscapes around us. As we complete the departure formalities, we remember the amazing moments we experienced—majestic waterfalls, exciting safaris, friendly people, and stunning views. We board our flight to Bangalore via Addis Ababa, saying goodbye to Africa with hearts full of happiness and unforgettable memories.

When our flight lands in Bombay, we move to the domestic terminal to catch our connecting flights to our home cities. Soon, board our flights to Cochin, Calicut, Trivandrum, or Chennai. As we reach home, we carry with us happy hearts, beautiful memories, and wonderful experiences from our South Africa and Victoria Falls journey. The sights we saw, the wildlife we met, and the moments we shared will stay with us forever.
