Itinerary

Our Azerbaijani adventure begins as we assemble at Cochin / Calicut / Trivandrum International Airport to board our Air Arabia flight to Baku, with a convenient transit in Sharjah. Upon arrival at the modern Heydar Aliyev International Airport, we complete immigration formalities we proceed for lunch. Later we begin exploring the capital. a panoramic city tour takes us to Upland Park, the highest viewpoint in Baku, offering sweeping views of the Caspian Sea coastline and the city’s striking skyline. From here, we get an up-close view of the iconic Flame Towers, the modern symbols of Azerbaijan that illuminate the night with dazzling LED displays. After the tour we proceed for dinner and proceed to hotel for check in. The evening is free for us to relax or enjoy an independent stroll.

After a hearty breakfast, we set off for a full-day excursion exploring some of Azerbaijan’s most unique natural and cultural wonders. Our first stop is the Ateshgah Fire Temple, a mystic sanctuary built around natural eternal flames and once revered by Zoroastrian, Hindu, and Sikh pilgrims. We then continue to the spectacular Yanar Dag (Burning Mountain), where a natural fire has been blazing continuously on a hillside for centuries. After lunch, we proceed to Gobustan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our adventure begins with an exciting Lada 4x4 ride to the Gobustan Mud Volcanoes, where small volcanoes bubble and spew cool mud. We then explore the Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, home to over 40,000-year-old petroglyphs depicting ancient rituals, animals, and daily life. The modern Gobustan Museum enriches our visit with interactive exhibits explaining the region’s prehistoric past. On our way back to Baku, we stop at the beautifully restored Bibi Heybat Mosque, an important spiritual landmark.

After breakfast, we check out and embark on a scenic drive north to Gabala, a picturesque city nestled in the Greater Caucasus Mountains. As we travel, the landscape transitions from semi-arid plains to lush forests, rivers, and towering peaks. Upon arrival, we begin with a peaceful visit to Nohur Lake, a serene spot surrounded by verdant hills ideal for photography and relaxation. Next, we proceed to the stunning Tufandag Mountain Resort. Here, we enjoy a thrilling cable car ride up the mountains, offering dramatic panoramic views of the Caucasus range. At the summit, we have time for optional adventure activities such as a zipline, shooting ranges, or simply relaxing with a warm drink overlooking the mountains. Later check in to hotel and overnight stay in Gabala.

After breakfast and check-out, we drive back to Baku for another immersive day dedicated to the treasures of Icherisheher. We begin with an outside visit to the mysterious Maiden Tower, the emblematic symbol of Baku. We then continue to the Shirvanshahs’ Palace (outside visit), a magnificent 15th-century royal complex showcasing the finest medieval Azerbaijani architecture. We stroll through a historic Caravanserai, imagining the Silk Road traders who once stayed there, and browse traditional shops for souvenirs such as carpets and handicrafts. In the afternoon, we enjoy a relaxed walk along the Baku Boulevard, stretching along the Caspian Sea. We visit Little Venice, where we can enjoy a gondola ride, and admire the unique architecture of the Visit Azerbaijan Carpet Museum . Check in to hotel and overnight stay at Baku.

After breakfast and checkout, we dedicate our final morning to one of Baku’s most iconic architectural masterpieces the Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by the world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid. Its flowing, futuristic form stands as a symbol of modern Azerbaijan and its artistic vision. After this inspiring visit, we proceed for lunch and then transfer to Heydar Aliyev International Airport for our departure flight to Cochin via Sharjah.

We arrive back in Trivandrum or Cochin or Calicut with our hearts full of unforgettable memories from the eternal flames of Absheron and the prehistoric wonders of Gobustan to the majestic Caucasus Mountains and the stunning modern skyline of Baku.
