Itinerary

Departure by 6AM towards Tanjore. Enroute Breakfast & lunch. By Noon proceed to the Brihadeeswarar Temple, ancient Hindu temple located at Thanjavur. It is one of the famous heritage places listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Dinner & Overnight stay at Tanjavur.

After breakfast we proceed to Gangaikonda Cholapuram- the temple has Shiva as the principal deity. The main temple tower stands 55 m tall and the imposing building is covered in rich art and sculptures that adorn the premises in absolute grandeur. The magnificent temple is built on an elevated structure. Post lunch drive for 50kms/ 1hrs, visit Nataraja Temple - Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Nataraja and Govindaraja, the form of Shiva as the lord of dance and Maha Vishnu as the Judge of the dance. Evening drive towards Kumbakonam. Dinner & Overnight stay at Kumbakonam.

Morning breakfast, we start our day by around 9am to Airavatesvara Temple- listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The art work that adorns the temple is extremely detailed, intricate and beautiful. It’s sheer poetry in stone. Built in the Dravidian architectural style, the main stone work of the building resembles a chariot. The entire temple complex is filled with rich carvings and inscriptions that narrate stories from ancient Indian Puranas. Now we visit the Handloom Artisans Center, where one can showcase the process of Weaving of Silk Sarees & Khadi. You get to bargain and purchase the one of your choices. Lunch at Kumabakonam and then drive to Srirangam- 2.5hrs/108kms. Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam which is also listed in Heritage sites of UNESCO. Dinner and return back to Cochin.

Arrive Cochin by 6 AM.
