Itinerary

Morning assemble at Cochin International Airport. Meet your Tour Manager and Co Travellers. Later board the flight to Aurangabad. On arrival at Aurangabad after collecting the baggage transfer to hotel for check in. Dinner and overnight stay at Aurangabad

Today post breakfast, proceed for day excursion to Ajanta caves - UNESCO World Heritage Site, exemplifying finest Indian Art, particularly Buddhist painting from Jataka tales. Most of the paintings in Ajanta are right from 2nd century BC-AD and some of them about the fifth century AD. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Evening back to Aurangabad and time free for leisure activities. Overnight stay in Aurangabad.

After Breakfast, proceed for local Sightseeing tour of Aurangabad. The city of Aurangabad is known for its medieval monuments and cultural heritage. It was the seat of the Mughal Empire for a short period. Visit Bibi-ka-Makbara, the mausoleum of Aurangzeb’s queen… this mausoleum is also called ‘Mini Taj Mahal’ owing to it being a smaller replica of the Taj. An archeological museum is located behind the mausoleum. Also explore the Panchakki, an interesting water-powered flourmill built in the 17th century, considered an engineering masterpiece in its day. Nearby is the Tomb of Baba Shah Muzaffar, a Sufi Saint. Thereafter, head to the Daulatabad Fort, 13 kms from Aurangabad. This fort, which was once known as Devagiri, is a magnificent 12th century fortress standing atop a hill, and is one of the few invincible forts in Maharashtra. Jami Masjid, Bharatmata Mandir, the Chand Minar, Elephant Tank and ‘Chini Mahal’ or Chinese Palace are some of the important monuments inside the fort. Return back to hotel. Overnight in Aurangabad

Today post early breakfast, check out (luggage can be kept at the hotel concierge) and proceed for half a day excursion to Ellora Caves- another World heritage Site, popular for magnificent cave temple suggesting Indian rock-cut architecture, with huge sculptural reliefs heightening the overall symbolism of the temple as cosmic mountain and as the home of Shiva. Later back to hotel. Have lunch and later you will be transferred to Aurangabad airport for your onward journey back Home. Tour ends with lots of memories to cherish for life time
